A contemporary Maori-style pendant carved from New Zealand nephrite jade (pounamu) in the form of a traditional fishhook (hei matau). HO Note: The Flower Jade variety of Nephrite comes from the Marsden area around Greymouth on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, which I suspect this to be although not confirmed. The flowering can be seen on the front side towards the base. I can provide photos if you would like to see more detail.
